February 16th (Wednesday) - February 19th (Saturday) The Great Ocean Road

Our first stop - Blue Lake outside of Mt. Gambier (previous home of our Executive car):

Scenery on our way to Portland:

Cape Breton Lighthouse:

Portland:

Here we come:

Of course we had to stop and get some Australian famous cheese:

While we were eating our cheeese and crackers Josh seen a sign for the local farm progress show.  So what would a trip to Australia be without seeing farm equipment ;)

At this point I still had the guide out to hopefully find a good shopping area - in a few hours I realized there were none unless I was interested in dairy cows:

Along the Great Ocean Road:

We have had beautiful weather since December - but as you can see now that we hit the Great Ocean Road it was terrible:

A friendly reminder ;)

Trying to carve in JH squared:

As we were pulling up to an intersection we heard a bang (thankfully Josh was driving) and realized we blew a tire: - Josh was not in a good mood and did not have anything nice to say:

We make a good team - Josh was down about the tire and with my usual antics was able to cheer him up :) (by not being able to help with anything probably):

On our Great Ocean Road adventure we not only had to buy a new spare tire but we also had to purchase a new cell phone and camera because they both died:

Initially this garage looked a little dodgy - but we had a great visit and got a brand new spare tire set on the rim for $90:

He collects license plates from all over the world:

The pictures are a little out of order - this was from the day that the weather was terrible along the Great Ocean Road (to foggy to see much) we decided to go for a helicopter ride to see more:

It took me awhile to understand the life vests - the pilot told us we had to wear them in case we had to make an emergency landing ;)

On our rainforest walk through the tree tops (Otway rainforest):

The roads are extremely windy and hilly (extremely slow driving):

Dolphins:

On the ferry from Queenscliff to Sorento (bypass having to drive through Melbourne):

For $70 you get a cabin like this in carparks:

Our friends the next morning:

Other pictures from our rainforest tree top walk:

We are now in Sydney and are on our way to go meet Brent - we aren't sure of our plans yet but will have another blog update in a few days.  Finding our hotel in Sydney was quite an adventure - needless to say we had no city map and a dead cell phone and no address for our hotel :)
